Problem
1. The screen is too bright or too dark.
2. Characters are blurred.
3. Afterimages appear.
4. Green/red/blue/white dots or defective
dots remain on the screen.
5. Interference patterns or pressure marks
remain on the screen.
6. Noise appears on the screen.
7. The screen is whitish or blackish.

1. The color shown on the display is not cor-
rect (for HDMI input).
2. The screen flashes (for HDMI input).
3. The screen is whitish or blackish (for HDMI
input).
Possible cause and remedy
• Use"Brightness"or"Contrast"intheSettingmenuto
adjustit(see"Toperformadvancedadjustments"(page16)).
(TheLCDmonitorbacklighthasalimitedlifespan.When
thescreenbecomesdarkorbeginstoflicker,contactyour
localEIZOrepresentative.)
• Ifthescreenistoobright,turnonAutoEcoViewand
EcoViewOptimizer(see"5-3.Enabling/Disabling
AutomaticBrightnessAdjustment"AutoEcoView""(page38),
"5-4.ReducingGlare"EcoViewOptimizer""(page38)).The
monitordetectstheenvironmentalbrightnesstoadjustthe
screenbrightnessautomatically.
• CheckwhetherthePCisconfiguredtomeettheresolution
andverticalscanfrequencyrequirementsofthemonitor
(see"2-1.CompatibleResolutions/Formats"(page13)).

Use"Smoothing"intheSettingmenutoadjustit(see"To
modifyblurredcharacters/lines"(page25)).
• AfterimagesareparticulartoLCDmonitors.Avoid
displayingthesameimageforalongtime.
• Usethescreensaverorpowersavefunctiontoavoid
displayingthesameimageforextendedperiodsoftime.
• ThisisduetoLCDpanelcharacteristicsandisnota
failure.
• Leavethemonitorwithawhiteorblackscreen.The
symptommaydisappear.

IntheSettingmenu,set"Overdrive"to"Off"(see"Enabling
Overdrive"(page21)).
• WhenenteringtheHDCPsignals,thenormalimagesmay
notbedisplayedimmediately.
•
Use"BlackLevel"(see"Adjustingthebrightnessandcolor
ofblack"BlackLevel""(page17)),and"Contrast"(see"To
adjustcontrast"(page17))intheSettingmenutoadjustit.
Possible cause and remedy
• Changethecolorspaceofthevideosignalin"Screen"–
"ColorSpace"undertheSettingmenu.
• TransmittablesignalsdifferonthecategoryoftheHDMI
cable.CheckwhetherthecablesupportHighSpeed.
• Use"Screen"–"ColorSpace"undertheSettingmenuto
adjustit.
