Notes on Use
This section provides notes on using this tape library.
1.3.1
Timing of tape cartridge replacement
Tape cartridges are consumables. For safe operation, they must be periodically replaced
according to frequency of use.

Note:
Even if backup is executed less than once a week, replace a cartridge at least once every
ten years.
1.3.2
Inserting cartridges
When inserting a cartridge into the LT160, be sure to keep label sheets and all other items
packaged with the cartridge from entering the LT160. Otherwise, a unit failure may
result.

Backup is executed daily:
Backup is executed once a week: Replace a cartridge once every ten years.
Do not execute any operation involving the backup software while the power to the
LT160 is off, or while the LT160 is being initialized by turning the power on.
Otherwise, a malfunction may result.
If the power to the LT160 is turned off during backup, the data being written is not
guaranteed. In addition, the cartridge that is used for writing data may be disabled.
In such cases, contact the support department that handles the backup software, take
the corrective action, and reexecute backup.
