Error
Measuring deviations, meas‐
uring errors
Measured value too low at
dosing
Measured value too low in
pulsed flow
Output current does not cor‐
respond to the current flow
and remains at a constant
value
Communication via HART
not possible
Communication via PROFI‐
BUS not possible
TRANSMAG 2 with MAG 911/E
Operating Instructions, 03/2021, A5E00102775-AC
Diagnosis
Inlet and outlet lines insufficient
Highly turbulent flow profile
For mass measurement: medium density
set incorrectly
Hydraulic calibration values faulty
Electric calibration faulty
Application-dependent calibration values
faulty
Set attenuation too high
Fault blanking activated
Magnetic field frequency too low
Magnetic field frequency too low
Temporary exceeding of internal working
range
Unfavorable hydraulic conditions
Unfavorable hydraulic conditions
There is a fault, failure signal 3.6, 22 or 24
mA is output (depending on the setting un‐
der menu 4.1.2)
Load too high
Current output or power supply defective
Minimum load of 230 Ω not available
Device address set incorrectly (assigned
more than once on the same bus or not
configured in the master)
Current load on bus too high for connected
feeding device
Baud rate between master and coupler/link
not correct
More than two bus terminations exist (incl.
coupler and link)
PROFIBUS interface defective
10.2 Application Problems
Remedy
Change installation (see Determining a location
(Page 19))
Change inlet line, use flow rectifier, reduce diam‐
eter of tube
Correct density according to current medium
(menu 3.1.4)
Check hydraulic calibration values CFH and ZPH.
According to the sensor rating plate and correct if
necessary (menus 6.7.2 and 6.7.3).
Run self-test (menu 2.4.1);
Check device status (menu 2.1): if "Calibration
failure measuring module" is displayed, send in
the complete electronics for repair
Reset zero point correction (menu 6.6.1) to 0 and/
or reset calibration factor (menu 6.7.1) to 1.0.
Alternatively: Make zero correction (menu 6.6.2)
and manual adaptation of the calibration factor
(menu 6.7.1)
Reduce filter time constant (menu 3.1.7.1)
Deactivate noise suppression (menu 3.1.7.3)
Device may not be suitable for this application
Change excitation to Bipolar (menu 6.7.4)
Increase URV (menu 3.1.2)
Install sensor on the suction side of the corre‐
sponding pump or in front of the feeding valve
Change excitation to Bipolar (menu 6.7.4)
Determine source of fault under device status
(menu 2.1)
Reduce total load including the resistance to <
600 Ω
Replace complete electronics
Increase load to at least 230 Ω and connect HART
Modem/Communicator parallel to this load
Correct address under menu 4.1.1 or request and
correct by acyclic communication
Try disconnecting other devices from the bus
Adapt the feeding device if necessary
Adapt baud rate to coupler/link
Reduce to two bus terminations
Check device status (menu 2.1): if "COM module
failure" is signaled, replace the complete electron‐
ics
