Burn hazard

Intense heating up of engine
and exhaust system while
riding
Burn hazard
After parking the motorcycle,
make sure that no persons
or objects come into contact
with the engine and exhaust
system.
Danger of overheating
ATTENTION
Engine running for an ex-
tended period while station-
ary
Overheating caused by insuffi-
cient cooling, vehicle fire in ex-
treme cases
Do not allow the engine to idle
unnecessarily.
Drive off after reaching the op-
erating temperature, or turn off
the engine again.
Outside temperatures
Do not drive the motorcycle out-
side of the specified temperature
range.
Recommended outside-
temperature range
41...104 °F (5...40 °C)
Modifications
ATTENTION
Modifications to the motor-
cycle (e.g. engine control
unit, throttle valves, clutch)
Damage to the affected parts,
failure of safety-relevant func-
tions, expiration of warranty
Do not make any
modifications.

Checklist

Observe checklist
Use the following checklist to
check your motorcycle at regu-
lar intervals.
Before every journey:
Check tire pressure and tire
condition.
Check operation of the brake
system.
Checking clutch function

Check function and free move-
ment of the steering damper
and the steering.
Check settings of DTC, EBR
and riding mode.

Starting

Starting engine
Switch on the ignition.
