3.2 Other Necessary Information
When analyzing a problem (particularly a communication problem), the following information should also
be reported.
(1) Check off the appropriate statement to indicate whether the machine resumes or not.
Resumes when the power is turned off and then on.
Resumes when the PCB is replaced.
Fails to resume.
(2) Repeatability
Frequent occurrence (Occurs everyday or regularly)
Sometimes (About once a week)
Once only
(3) In case of a communication problem, turn on the line monitor, check the fax communication with a
voice from the speaker, and check off the appropriate statement.
Note: When ending the examination, be sure to turn off the line monitor.
The line has noise.
→ Request the telephone company for examination to see if there is any problem with the state of
the line.
A busy tone is heard from the contacted station in the middle of communication.
→ Check the contacted station for abnormal conditions. If there are no abnormal conditions,
check the model name of the contacted station.
