The st andard print er leaves t he fact ory wit h EFI GS loaded int o Module Y. At t his point , Module
Y is LOCKED and will only accept addit ional language downloads.

Aft er downloading a language updat e, Module Y is left UNLOCKED unt il t he print er is reset or
power is cycled. I n t his st at e, Module Y will accept font , im age and label form at downloads.
The m odule will also honor t he Clear Module request . Therefore, following an updat e it is
recom m ended t hat a reset be perform ed t o lock t he m odule; ot herwise, a soft ware package
m ay " Clear All Modules" t hus dest roying t he new m enu language( s) .

This file is locat ed on t he Dat am ax- O'Neil FTP sit e. The let t er at t he end of t he file nam e ( e.g.,
A) specifies t he revision. The lat est revision will be available on t he FTP sit e.

Downloading t he sam e language t wice will aut om at ically delet e t he first occurrence, but will
not free t he m em ory space.

Delet ion of t he select ed language will reset t he print er t o English. The t ot al num ber of
languages t hat t he print er can now accept is lim it ed t o 10, but t his num ber is dependent upon
t he size of each language t ranslat ion. The t ranslat ion size will vary wit h t he num ber of
m essages t hat are t ranslat ed for t hat part icular language. Current com plet e language files are
about 7,000 byt es each; but wit h product growt h, t he t ot al num ber of languages is expect ed
t o drop t o five.
