Purpose of the equipment
These manuals describe the application and operation of the
SOMATOM Emotion system.

SOMATOM Emotion is a computed tomography system.
Type of application
SOMATOM Emotion is suitable for the generation and process-
ing of tomographic images of patients for diagnostic purposes.
Site of application
SOMATOM Emotion can be operated in the X-ray department of
a hospital or doctor's office.
Authorized users
SOMATOM Emotion must be used by persons with the neces-
sary specialist knowledge according to country-specific regula-
tions, e.g., physicians, trained radiologists or trained technolo-
gists, after an appropriate application training. If more than the
frequently used functions are required, Siemens Customer Serv-
ice must be consulted.
