Depending on your version of Windows and Internet Explorer, what
appears on your screen may differ slightly. If you are using a web browser
other than Internet Explorer, what appears on your screen and the series of
operations will differ from the explanation in this manual. For more details,
refer to the Help file for your web browser.

Click [Open].
If you would prefer to save the registry file to your computer without
writing it directly to your registry, click [Save].
The following message appears.

Click [Yes].
A message appears indicating that the registry was updated.

Click [OK].

Restart Windows.
Setting plain passwords
You can set Windows clients to use plain or encryption passwords. If you
configure this system not to use encryption passwords, you must change each
client's setting to [Plain Password] because Windows is configured by default
to use encryption passwords. (This system is set by default to use encryption
passwords. If you are using the default settings, there is no need to use plain
passwords.)
