Connecting the CD/DVD-ROM drive to the media server

Note:
The CD/DVD-ROM drive must be placed on a surface within 5 degrees of level.
Note:
1. Plug one end of the CD/DVD-ROM power cord into the drive and plug the other end of the
cord into an electrical outlet.
2. Set the power switch on the side of the CD/DVD-ROM drive to "EXT."
3. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the faceplate of the Media Server.
4. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the CD/DVD-ROM drive.
5. Place the Avaya Communication Manager CD-ROM into the external CD/DVD-ROM drive.

Applying power to the media server

Note:
The G650 media gateway must have its power turned on before starting this

1. Pull the TN8400 circuit pack out far enough to extinguish all LEDs.
2. Carefully slide the circuit pack back into the slot to reboot the system.

Accessing the media server

1. Use a cross-over cable to connect your laptop computer to the Services port on the
faceplate of the media server.
2. Wait at least 3 minutes after you turn on the media server before you start a Telnet session
to access the information on the CD-ROM.
