8 Commissioning the heating system
This chapter details the commissioning process, inde-
pendently of the type of control unit used.
B Complete the commissioning report during commis-
sioning ( Chapter 8.8, page 42).
BOILER DAMAGE
through excessive dust and airborne seed.
B Never operate the boiler when there is
a lot of dust in the boiler room, e.g. due
to building work.
B Install an air filter if the combustion air
supply is very dusty (e.g. due to dirt
roads and paths or dust-generating
working environments such as quar-
ries, mines etc.) or contains airborne
seeds from composite plants.

Creating operating pressure

Create the operating pressure required before commis-
sioning.
SYSTEM DAMAGE
due to material stresses caused by tempe-
rature differentials.
B Only fill the heating system when cold
(the flow temperature must not exceed
40 °C).
B Set the red pressure gauge indicator to the required
operating pressure of at least 1 bar (applies to sealed
unvented systems).
B Top up the heating water or drain via the boiler drain
& fill valve until the required operating pressure has
been reached.
B Vent the heating system while filling.
