Perform 30 Day Service

The 30 day maintenance procedure is a onetime
procedure to be performed after the fi rst 30 days
or 40 hours of usage. After this interval, refer to
the maintenance tables for continued scheduled
maintenance.
1 Perform the following maintenance procedures:
• A-8 Grease the Turntable Rotation
Bearing and Rotate Gear
• B-11 Inspect the Parking Brake
• D-3 Replace the Hydraulic Tank
Return Filter
• D-4 Check the Turnable Rotation

Grease the Turntable Rotation
Bearing and Rotate Gear
Genie specifi cations require that this procedure be
performed every 100 hours of operation.
Regular application of lubrication to the turntable
bearing and rotate gear is essential to good
machine performance and service life. Continued
use of an insuffi ciently greased bearing and gear
will result in component damage.
1 Raise the boom enough to access the turntable
bearing.
2 Locate the grease fi tting on the platform end of
the turntable, next to the boom hold-down latch.
3 Pump multipurpose grease into the turntable
rotation bearing. Rotate the turntable in
increments of 4 to 5 inches / 10 to 13 cm at
a time and repeat this step until the entire
bearing has been greased.
4 Apply grease to each tooth of the drive gear
located under the turntable.
