Clean the System

Run a cleaning card to clean debris from the inside of the system. The cleaning card can remove
most contaminants from the system. Run a cleaning card after every 500 cards processed by the
system, or more often depending on your environment or if card quality diminishes.
If the card light is blinking amber and there are cards in the input hopper, the system's
configured cleaning count has been reached and it is time to clean the system. The
number of cards between cleaning is set in the Printer Manager FrontPanel settings.
Refer to the "Printer Manager" section of the printer's Installation and Administrator's
Guide.

Single Hopper System

Prepare the printer for cleaning.

Power on the system.
b.
Unlock the printer.
c.
Open the printer swingarm and remove the print
ribbon cartridge.
d.
Remove the used cleaning sleeve and discard it.
e.
Replace the ribbon cartridge and close the
swingarm. Press down on the ridges on the front of
the swingarm to make sure it latches completely on
both sides.
f.
Open the input hopper and remove any unprinted cards.
g.
Open the cleaning card package and remove the
cleaning card.
h.
Load the cleaning card in the input hopper. (Plan
to clean the printer immediately. The cleaning
card dries out if it is out of its package for more
than a few minutes.)

Close the input hopper and lock the printer. The
front panel displays Ready and the U
