System Overview

The CE870 instant issuance system is used to produce a variety of cards on-site, including credit
and debit cards. Personalization options include encoding magnetic stripe data, reading or
programming smart cards, printing text and images, embossing, and indenting financial data. The
system is designed to issue cards at the user's location (called on-demand or instant issuance).
The system receives data from a PC or other computer, personalizes the card using that data, and
presents a finished card. The system is a multi-component system consisting of the following:

The printer provides print and encoding features. It processes
magnetic stripe data and programs smart card chips using
secure encryption.
The embosser produces raised characters and numbers on the
front of the card. An optional indenter can produce indented
characters on the back or the front of the card.
