-Enabling the system
PROGRAMMING YOUR PIN
To program your PIN, do the following.
1. Turn the ignition key to "ACC" or "ON".
2. Make sure that the audio system is off.
3. Simultaneously push and hold preset
buttons "1" and "6".
4. Continue to hold both buttons, and
push the "PWR·VOL" knob until "SEC"
appears on the display. Release all
buttons.
5. Push and hold the "1\" side of the
"SEEK/TRACK" button, and push preset
button "1 ". "---" will appear on the
display.
6. To enter your three-digit PIN, the pre-
set buttons "1", "2" and "3" are used.
To input the PIN:
(a) Push preset button "1" to select
the digit in position one.
(b) Push preset button "1" again to in-
crease the digit in position one.
Push the button repeatedly until the
desired digit is displayed.
(c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) for preset
button "2" (position two) and preset
button "3" (position three).

For example, if your PIN was 243, you
would do the following.
• Push preset button "1" once to se-
lect the first digit.
• Push preset button "1" twice to set
the first digit to 2.
• Push preset button "2" once to se-
lect the second digit.

Push preset button "2" four times to
set the second digit to 4.
• Push preset button "3" once to se-
lect the third digit.
• Push preset button "3" three times
to set the third digit to 3.
7. Push the "SCAN" button to save your
PIN. This must be done within 10 sec-
onds or the system will return to step
6.
If input was successful, "SEC" will flash
on the display for two seconds. The audio
system will switch off, and normal opera-
tion will resume. In addition, once the sys-
tem is set, the security indicator light will
flash when the key is in the "LOCK" posi-
tion.
If "ERR" is displayed instead, return to
step 5 and re-input your PIN.
CHANGING YOUR PIN
To change your PIN, do the following.
1. Erase your current PIN. See "-Disab-
ling the system" on page 153 in this
Section.
2. Program your new PIN into the audio
system. See "PROGRAMMING YOUR
PIN".
