4.3 REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES (Cont'd)
4. Unlatch head lock lever (1, Figure 4-1b) and withdraw defective print head (4) from within print assembly
(3).
5. Disconnect the two wiring harnesses (not shown) from the defective print head (4).
6. Reconnect two wiring harnesses (not shown) to replacement print head (4).
Note
Each of the printer's wiring harness connectors are different from all others to make sure proper mating.
Mate each matching half for re-connection.
7.
Position the print head (4) so that the center screw hole is aligned and the alignment pins are aligned
with the alignment holes on top of the print head.
Keep the cables inside the head bracket not to block ribbon and paper routes.
Caution
EXERCISE CARE WHEN INSTALLING THE PRINT HEAD TO MAKE SURE THAT ITS ELEMENTS
ARE NOT DAMAGED DURING INSTALLATION.
8. Latch the print head, secure the replacement print head (4) to print assembly (3) using screw (2).
9. Restore power, reset the head counter, and test print.
