Speaker
Cache
The system speed selections let you slow the effective system speed
to that of an 8 MHz IBM XT/AT system for compatibility with
certain older software. (In slow mode, all the primary and the
secondary cache logic is disabled.) The "Fast" selection enables
the system to run at the full-rated speed of the CPU.
The speaker selections let you turn the system speaker on or off.
When you reboot the system, the state of the speaker will revert to
what you specified in Setup.
The cache selections let you turn on or off the system's caching
capabilities (both the internal cache of the CPU and the external
cache, if installed). When you reboot the system, the system
caching will revert to what you specified in Setup.
