Configuring Your System
Network Password — When the network password is
activated, the system boots up, installs all specified drivers, and
waits for the password to be entered before it will allow access via
the keyboard or mouse. The power-on password must be installed
before the network password can be activated. This scheme
enables the system to be set up as a network server, allowing
remote users to access it.
To enter a network password follow the instructions on the
screen. The next time the system boots, it will prompt you for the
password.
To change the password, enter the following at the
prompt:
oldpassword/newpassword/newpassword
To remove the password, enter the following at the
prompt:
password/
Keyboard Password — This selection lets you enter a
password for the keyboard. To enter a password, follow the
instructions on the screen. You must enter the password a second
time for verification.
After you have installed a keyboard password, you can lock the
keyboard with the selection "Lock Keyboard." To unlock the
keyboard, type the keyboard password and press ENTER.
To remove the keyboard password, reboot the system. If a
power-on password exists, that becomes the keyboard password
after the system reboots. There will be no keyboard password if
you remove the power-on password and then reboot the system.
