Risk of malfunction due to incorrect sequence
of mounting, installation, and start-up.
Keep the following sequence.
1. Remove the protective film from the pneu-
matic connections.
2. Mount the positioner on the control valve.
3. Connect the supply air.
4. Connect the electrical power.
5. Perform the start-up settings.
The positioner is suitable for the following
types of attachment:
− Direct attachment to SAMSON
Type 3277 Actuator
− Attachment to actuators according to
IEC 60534-6 (NAMUR)
− Attachment according to VDI/VDE 3847
− Attachment to Type 3510 Micro-flow
Valve
− Attachment to rotary actuators

Risk of malfunction due to incorrect mounting
parts/accessories or incorrect assignment of
lever and pin position.
Attach the positioner to the control valve only
using the mounting parts and accessories as
specified in Table 1 to Table 6. Observe the
type of attachment.

page 21).
Lever and pin position
The positioner is adapted to the actuator and
to the rated travel by the lever on the back of
the positioner and the pin inserted into the
lever.
The travel tables on page 21 show the
maximum adjustment range at the position-
er. The travel that can be implemented at the
valve is additionally restricted by the selected
fail-safe position and the required compres-
sion of the actuator springs.
The positioner is equipped with the M lever
(pin position 35) as standard.

Risk of malfunction because the newly
mounted lever has not been adapted to the
internal measuring lever.
Move the newly mounted lever (1) once all
the way as far as it will go in both directions.
