Installing a license file

This procedure is used to install a license file. If the switch is reset to default, the license file
must be reinstalled and to reenable licensed features. Resetting a switch to default removes
the license file from its storage area in NVRAM. Store the license file on a TFTP server
accessible by the switch or stack before starting the installation procedure. For switches
equipped with a USB port, you can also use a USB mass storage device to copy the license
file to the switch.

Procedure
1. Log on to Privileged EXEC mode in ACLI:

Installing a license using USB example
1. Insert a USB mass storage device into a USB port on the front of the switch.
2. To copy a license from a USB mass storage device, use the following commands:

You must reboot the system to activate the license.
