Assembling the trim cylinder

Do not use a rag when assembling the
PTT unit because dust and particles on
the PTT unit components can lead to
poor performance.
9 Do not reuse the O-rings, always replace
them with new ones.
1. Install a new O-ring 1 to the tilt cylinder
end screw a.
2. Install a new O-ring 2 into the trim cylin-
der end screw b.
3. Install a new O-ring 3 and backup ring
4 onto the tilt piston c.

4. Install new O-rings 5 and 6 onto the
trim piston 7, and then install the trim
piston 7 to the trim cylinder 8.

5. Install the PTT ram assembly into the
trim cylinder 8.
6. Hold the trim cylinder in a vise using alu-
minum plates on both sides.
7. Install the trim cylinder end screw b, and
then tighten it to the specified torque.
NOTICE: Do not damage the check
valve d when tightening the end
screw.
