Cylinder Head Inspection - Honda 2000 XR50R Service Manual

CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Remove the valve spring cotters using the special
tools as shown.
TOOLS:
Valve spring compressor 07757-0010000
Valva spring compressor attachment
07959-KM30101
CAUTION :
To prevent 1055 of tension. do not compress the
vlllv8 springs more than necessary to remove th"
cotters.
Mark
all
parts
Remove the f ollowi ng:
during -Spring retainer
dlssssembly
so -Valve spring
they can be placed
-Valve
back in their
- Stem seal
origina/locations. -
Valve spring seat
INSPECTIQN
CYLINDER HEAD
Remove ca rbon deposits from the combustion
chamber.
AvoId damaging
Check the spark plug hole and va lve areas for
the gasket surface.

Check the cylinder head for warpage with a straight
edge and feeler gauge.
SERVICE UMIT: 0.05 mm (0.002 in)
