Step 4- Unfasten any heatsink socket clips and
fan power cables.
Depending on your system manufacturer, the heatsink on your original
processor is either clipped to the socket or is fastened directly to the top of the
processor. If the heatsink is fastened directly to the processor without a clip
and you have no fan, proceed to Step 5 now.
Removing A Fan Heatsink
Some systems use a fan heatsink with a fan power cable attached. The power
cable can either be attached to a power connection on the motherboard or
attached to a cable from the system power source. Carefully unplug the fan
power cable from the power source.

You do not need the fan, fan cable or any clips to install
the Pentium OverDrive processor. After removing,
store these parts with your original processor.
If your system uses a fan power cable from the system
power source, after detaching the fan power cable
carefully fold the system power source out of the way
to prevent the cable from touching any system compo-
nents.
