• If the scanner is configured to end a scanned string with a termination character (for example a CR or LF) click the button
for Character(s). Then click the Select.. button and choose the termination character from the list.
• If the scanner is not sending a termination character, click the button for Timeout and select the period in milliseconds.
Click OK to save settings. Click Hide to hide the WLinq information screen.
When WLinq is running, it is indicated by a gray circular icon in the task bar. The icon turns green while WLinq is processing
scanned data or red if there is an error.
To exit the WLinq wedge, click on the taskbar icon then click the Unload button. To restart WLinq, select Start > All Pro-
grams > FreeFloat WLinq > WLinq and click the Hide button.

Loading an Operating System on the Thor VX9

If it becomes necessary to reload the operating system on a Thor VX9, there are two options available.
1. A Thor VX9 Recovery DVD

2. A user provided operating system. The user must:
• Provide their own installation source of a supported operating system (such as Windows XP or Windows 7)
• Have a valid activation key for that operating system
• Have a Thor VX9 Thor VX9
VX9 devices when used with commercially available Microsoft Windows operating system installation media.

Using the Recovery DVD

The Recovery Solution 2 (RS2) is a method to restore the software on your Thor VX9 to the same state as when it was
shipped from the factory.
Backup any data that must be preserved before beginning the RS2 process. Because the RS2 process refor-
mats the hard drive, any data or user installed programs on the Thor VX9 hard drive will be lost.
To use RS2, the following components are needed:
• A Thor VX9 configured to boot from a USB mass storage device
• A USB DVD player
• A RS2 DVD suitable for your combination of operating system, language and Thor VX9 model.
Optionally, to load the image from a network location rather than from the DVD:
• Copy the .wim file from the root directory of the RS2 DVD to a network location
