Section 20: Mounting the Canopy

Parts Needed
Fuselage
Canopy
Instrument pane decal
Pilot (optional)
Tools and Adhesives Needed
Scissors
Masking tape
Canopy glue (Pacer 560)
Phillips screw driver
Hobby knife with #11 blade
Step 1. Locate the canopy and note the raised lines. Trial fit
the canopy before beginning to trim it.
Step 2. Carefully check the canopy fit to the fuselage
periodically while trimming to make sure not to remove too
much material.
Step 3. Trial fit the canopy to the fuselage.

Step 4. Locate the instrument panel decal from the decal sheet.
Cut the instrument panel out and trial fit it to the hatch area in
the front area of the cockpit. When you're satisfied with the fit,
peel away the backing and apply the instrument panel decal to
the instrument panel area. Use Shoe Goo or silicone adhesive to
secure the pilot to the cockpit.
Step 5. If you plan on using a pilot in the CAP 232, now is the
time to mount it to the cockpit floor area of the hatch.
Step 6. After confirming the fit of the canopy, attach it to the
fuselage using canopy glue such as Pacer 560. Masking tape
can be used to hold the canopy in place while the glue dries.
Allow the canopy glue to dry at least 24 hours. Trim film for the
canopy can be applied now.
