Front Panel Operation

Front Panel LED Indicators

The function of the eight front panel LED indicators is as follows:

Front Panel Keypad

The function of the keypad is as follows:
◄ ► (Left, Right)
▲ ▼ (Up, Down)
ENTER
CLEAR
In general, the Alarm relay state will reflect the state
of the Front Panel LEDs. For instance, if the Unit
Status LED is red, the Unit Alarm relay will be active,
etc. The one exception is the Transmit Traffic relay.
IMPORTANT
This will only be activated if a Transmit Traffic Fault
exists – it does not reflect the state of the Tx carrier.
Condition
Green
No Unit Faults, or Traffic Faults
Amber
No Unit Faults, but a Traffic Fault exists
Red
A Unit Fault exists (Example: PSU fault)
Green
Transmitter is ON
Off
Transmitter is OFF. May be forced OFF by a Fault or programmed OFF
Green
No Tx Traffic Faults (data, encoder, synthesizer and modulator all OK)
Off
A Tx Traffic fault exists
Green
The Unit is Online, and carrying traffic
Off
The Unit is Offline (standby) – forced by externally connected 1:1 redundancy system
There is a Stored Event in the log, which can be viewed from the front panel, or retrieved
Amber
via the remote control interface
Off
There are no Stored Events
Green
No Rx-1 Traffic Faults (demod-1 and data are all are OK)
An Rx-1 Traffic fault exists (the demod may still be OK)
Off
Or Rx-1 is inactive and not enabled (programmed OFF)

A Test Mode is selected (Example: TX CW)

There is no currently selected Test Mode
The keypad has an auto-repeat feature. If a key is held
down for more than 1 second, the key action will repeat,
automatically, at the rate of 15 keystrokes per second.
This is particularly useful when editing numeric fields,
IMPORTANT
with many digits, such as frequency or data rate.
These arrows are used to move to the next selection or to move the cursor functions.
At times, they may also used to move from one section to another.
These arrows are used primarily to change configuration data (numbers).
At times, they may also be used to move from one section to another.
This key is used to select a displayed function or to execute a modem configuration change.
This key is used to back out of a selection or to cancel a configuration change which has not been
executed using [ENTER]. Pressing [CLEAR] generally returns the display to the previous selection.
