Introduction

About this Manual

This manual contains information about the Extron
DVI 201xi Tx DVI transmitter, with information on mounting,
installing, and operating these units.
In this manual, unless otherwise specified, the term transmitter
and DVI 201xi Tx are used interchangeably.

About the DVI 201xi Tx

The DVI 201xi Tx transmits single link DVI-D (1024x768 or
720p/1080i @ 60 Hz up to 200' or 1920x1200 or 1080p @ 60 Hz
up to 100') and pass-through control signals up to 200' (60 m)
over two CAT 5/5e/6/7 twisted pair cables.
It is compatible with all Extron single link HDMI and DVI
receivers:
The transmitter can also be used with appropriate dual link
receivers (e.g. DVI DL 201 Rx), if they are used in single link
mode. The transmitter ships with an external desktop 12 VDC
power supply. The receivers listed above have remote power
capability and a single power supply, connected to either the
transmitter or the receiver, is able to power both devices.
Using two CAT 5/5e/6/7 twisted pair cables, DVI-D signals up
to 1080i can be extended up to 200' (60 m). Higher resolution
signals can be transmitted shorter distances.
