Quidway S3000-EI Series Ethernet Switches
Caution:
Before performing any of the following operation, please make sure that the switch is powered off to
avoid the damage to the components.
Step 1: Wear ESD wrist strap and disconnect the power of the switch.
Step 2: Face the rear panel of the switch.
Step 3: Remove the blank filler panel in the module slot.
Step 4: Align the remote edge of the interface card with the hatch edge of the switch
bottom.
Step 5: Push the interface card gently into the switch until the card touches the switch
panel.
Step 6: Fix the interface card in the switch with the captive screws.
Caution:
Save the removed blank filler panel for future use.

3.5.2 Removal of Optional Interface Modules

Step 1: Wear ESD wrist strap and disconnect the power of the switch.
Step 2: Face the rear panel of the switch.
Step 3: Use the flat-blade screwdriver to unscrew the captive screws at the both sides
of the interface module.
Step 4: Pull the card towards the operator until the interface card is completely apart
from the switch bottom.
Caution:
When removing/installing the optional interface modules, pay attention to the following:
1) When removing /installing the module, do not apply too much force during the operation or touch the
components on the surface of the module.
2) If the Module is removed and there is no need to mount a new one, mount the blank filler panel in
time to keep the dust out and ensure the normal ventilation of the switch.
