Checking for Leaks
It is important to regularly check your hoses, connections
and tank for leaks. Failure to do so could result in fire or
explosion which could cause property damage, personal
injury or death. This test should be conducted regularly
to ensure that the gas appliance and LP tank are in good
working order and operates safely.
DANGER: Do not use an open flame to test for leaks.
Do not smoke and be sure there are no sparks or open
flames in the area while you perform the leak test. Sparks
or open flames could result in fire or explosion which
could cause property damage, personal injury or death.
The connections should be leak tested every time the
LP cylinder is removed or every time you disconnect and
reconnect a gas fitting.
Burner Connections
1. Make sure the regulator valve and hose connections are
securely fastened to the burner and the tank.
If your unit was assembled for you, visually check the
connection between the burner venturi pipe and orifice.
Make sure the burner venturi pipe fits over the orifice.
2. If the burner pipe does not rest flush to the orifice,
please contact Customer Service at 1-800-737-8815
for assistance.
WARNING: Failure to inspect this connection or follow
these instructions could cause fire or explosion which
could cause property damage, personal injury or death.
Ensure that the barbecue and tank are in a well-
ventilated area.
LEAK-TESTING THE CONNECTIONS
1. Mix ¼ cup of liquid dishwashing soap with ¾ of a
cup of water.
2. Make sure control knobs are "OFF/FERMÉ".
3. Turn LP tank valve to "Open".
4. Spoon the mix over the connections or use a small
paintbrush to coat the all the connections, hoses and
fittings including the manifold pipe assembly (the
steel pipe that connects to all the burners.)
5. If you see growing bubbles after several attempts,
turn the LP tank to "Closed" and disconnect it.
Do not try to repair. Call Customer Service at
1-800-737-8815 to order replacement parts.
6. If no bubbles appear after one minute, turn the LP tank to
"Closed", wipe away solution with water, then wipe dry.

LEAK-TESTING THE LP CYLINDER
1. Make sure the control knobs are "Off".
2. Disconnect the tank from the regulator.
3. Remove the tank from the cart.
4. Using the mixture from the connections leak test,
spoon the mix over the tank or use a small paintbrush
to coat the places shown in the figure with the mixture.
LEAK
If you see growing bubbles appear, do not use or move
the LP cylinder. Contact your gas supplier or your fire
department.
If you no bubbles appear after one minute, reconnect
the LP tank to the cart and reattach the regulator
following the instructions in Connecting Your Tank
Section on page 31.
Do not use a damaged LP cylinder. A dented or rusty
LP cylinder or a cylinder with a damaged valve may be
hazardous and should be replaced with a new one.
The connection where the hose connects to the LP cylinder
must be leak tested each time the LP cylinder is refilled.
HOSE INSPECTION
The hose should be inspected for any signs of cracking
or damage.
WARNING: Check hose before each use of barbecue
for nicks, cracking, abrasions or cuts. If the hose
is found to be damaged in any way, do not use the
barbecue. Replace using only authorized replacement
hose. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-737-8815
immediately for replacement parts.
