2. Connect your CRD 8100 cradle to your computer by plugging the cable from the
cradle into the serial communications port on your desktop computer.

Note: The CRD 8100-1000S cable requires a dedicated port. It cannot
share a port with an internal modem or other device. If you are
unsure about the location of the serial port on your computer, refer
to the user's manual supplied with the computer.
