TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
The picture sometimes
breaks up into 'blocks'.
Error message displays:
'Your smartcard has not
yet received an
authorisation or has
expired.'
Error message displays:
'Your smartcard is not
authorised for this
programme.'
Kabel Digital
Possible cause
(i) If you have other
devices connected to your
cable service, there may
not be enough signal
strength for the set-up.
(ii) Faulty connectors or
leads may be affecting the
signal.
(iii) If the break-up is
temporary but often, there
may be interference
caused by other electrical
items in your home.
(i) You have not watched a
Kabel Digital programme
for several weeks and
therefore your Smartcard
has not been
automatically updated.
(ii) You have not carried
out the initial smartcard
authorisation process yet,
or you did not carry it out
successfully.
You are not authorised to
watch this programme.
Suggested remedy
(i) Try connecting your cable input directly to
your set-top box. If this stops the picture
breaking up, then there is not enough signal
strength to use additional devices.
(ii) Try new connectors/leads.
(iii) Consult a qualified electrician.
(i) Please tune to a channel that is included in
your subscription. Your smartcard
authorisation will be renewed within two
hours.
(ii) Your smartcard is automatically
authorised several days (typically, eight
days) after you purchased it. To authorise
your smartcard, tune your set-top box to a
channel that is included in your subscription.
Within 30 minutes your smartcard will be
authorised.
Please contact the provider of the programme
you want to watch. You may have to extend
your subscription.
