TROUBLESHOOTING

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are experiencing difficulty with your set-top box, check the troubleshooting table below – this may
provide the answer you are looking for.
If you still have problems after consulting the table, contact the Call Centre (see the inside of the rear
cover of this manual for details).
Problem
The standby light on the
front panel of your set-top
box is not lit.
Your remote control will
not operate your set-top
box.
When your set-top box
first tries to find and store
the digital channels, you
see the message 'No
signal' (or some of the
publicised channels are
missing from the Channel
List).
When you take your set-
top box out of standby, the
digital channels do not
automatically appear on
your TV.
You have forgotten your
PIN-Code.
You cannot see or display
the Zapping Window.
Kabel Digital
Possible cause
Your set-top box is not
receiving power.
(i) Your set-top box is still
in standby.
(ii) Something is blocking
the path between your
remote control and your
set-top box.
(iii) The batteries in your
remote control need
replacing.
Your cable is not properly
connected to your set-top
box.
The AV control setting on
the TV Settings screen
may be set to 'Off'.
The Info display time
setting has been set to 'O
seconds/off'.
Suggested remedy
Make sure that the mains lead is properly
plugged into the back of your set-top box and
the mains supply, and that the mains supply
is switched on.
Check that the mains wall socket has power
(try plugging in a lamp). If it is OK, there may
be a problem with your set-top box.
(i) Press the S (Standby) button on your
remote control.
(ii) Check that nothing is blocking the path.
(iii) Replace both batteries in your remote
control. Please remember that used alkaline
batteries must never be thrown into a fire. We
recommend disposing of them in an
environmentally-friendly way.
Make sure that your cable is properly
connected to your set-top box.
Try scanning for channels again (see
page 38).
Set AV control to 'On' (see page 35), but note
that some TVs do not respond to this AV
control setting, so you may have to use your
TV's remote control to choose the appropriate
AV input on your TV.
Contact the Kabel Deutschland-Hotline or
Premiere Service.
Set it to '3', '5' or '10' seconds (as required)
instead (see page 33).
