LINEAR SCAN
On the Network Scan Setup Details screen, use
the arrow and number buttons to enter the
settings you want, then press OK. (To do this, you
need to understand the technical details of what
you wish to scan for, so you may need to consult
a magazine that gives this kind of information.)
When you have entered all the settings, press OK.
Your set-top box starts scanning for channels. A
screen displays to show you the progress of the
scan.
When the scan is complete, the screen displays
the number of TV and radio channels found. Press
the OK button to save all the channels that were
found. The Network Scan screen displays. Press
Esc/TV to remove the menus. You can now tune to
the new channels.
NOTE: If your set-top box finds the 'Network
Information Table', it will perform an NIT scan. It
will not perform a linear scan, even if you have
changed the settings in the Network Scan Setup
Details screen.

FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT SCANNING
Carrying out a network scan should not affect
your Favourites List. However, if a channel that
was in your Favourites List is no longer available
after you carry out a network scan, then you will
not be able to tune to that Favourite Channel
number, so you may wish to re-organise your
Favourites List (see page 30).
IMPORTANT: If you press the Esc/TV button while
your set-top box is scanning, you will lose all the
channels that were previously saved. You will
therefore have to start a new scan for channels.
