9.4.2 Replacing a Diskette Drive

8. Position the drive bracket on top of a flat surface.
9. Remove the screws securing the diskette drive to the drive bracket.
10. Remove the diskette drive.
To replace the diskette drive:
Caution – Use proper ESD grounding techniques when handling components.
Wear an antistatic wrist strap and use an ESD-protected mat. Store
ESD-sensitive components in antistatic bags before placing it on any surface.
1. Remove the diskette drive from the antistatic bag.
Note – Read the disk drive product guide for information about jumpers,
switch settings, or other installation tasks.
2. Replace the screws securing the diskette drive to the drive bracket.
3. Connect the DC power cable to the diskette drive.
4. Remove the diskette data cable from the kit and proceed as follows:
a. Connect the cable end labeled P1 to the system board connector J1201.
b. Connect the cable end labeled P2 to the diskette drive.
5. Lower the drive bracket into the chassis. Slide the drive bracket toward
the opening.
6. Route the diskette data cable under the clip on the side of the drive
bracket.
7. Replace the screws on the system front.
8. If necessary, replace the CD filler panel.
