SETTING
OFF:
Starting
The
4
positions of the key in the ignition are:
"5"
for
STOP: the ignition is switched
off.
"A"
for Accessories:
the ignition is switched off
but
the accessories
can
function.
The battery
light
comes on.
"M" for Running:
the ignition is on. The following
lights
come on:
-
oil pressure
- coolant
temperature
- battery charge
- central
alert
(STOP)
-
handbrake,
brake fluid
level
-
engine auto-diagnostics
- Airbag
and
side
airbags,
the
warning light comes
on for
6
seconds and
then
switches
off.
-ASS'
(comes
on
for
3
seconds)
In
all
cases the
warning
light
will
go out
when
the vehicle speed exceeds 8
m.p.h.
or
12
km/h
-
electronic
suspension'
(the control switch warning
light
comes
on
for three seconds and then
goes
out).
"0"
for
Starting:
the engine
turns, release the key,
the warning lights go
out.
Unlocking the steering
Gently turn the steering
wheel
at the same
time as
you
turn the
key.
Before starting it is advisable to:
Press the clutch pedal while operating
the
starter in order to ease starting
the engine.
STARTING
Engine cold or hot:
Do
not
press the accelerator.
Operate the
starter,
without
releasing the
key,
until
the engine
turns.
Stopping
the
engine:
Wait
until
the engine
has
returned
to
idle
before switching
off.
After a journey
at
high
speed, wait a few
moments before stopping the
engine.
