Selecting a station
Automatic search
Briefly press

for
the frequency of the
station imme-
diately above
or
below the
frequency
cur-
rently being displayed.
The
search
is
indicated
by the
rapid and con-
tinuous changing
of
the frequency displayed.
Following the search, the display will indicate
the frequency
of
the
station
to
which
the radio
is
tuned.
In
TA
mode,
the
search
is limited to
RDS
stations
which transmit
traffic information.
TA
mode is one
of
the functions offered by
the RDS.
Automatic
frequency
search
can
also
be
carried out using
the remote
control.
Rapid manual search
Press and hold
button
<4
(17)
or
~ (19)
in
order
to rapidly
scan
stations
on
a
lower or
higher frequency.
Releasing the
button
will stop the
search.
The
frequency of the
station
obtained
at the
end
of the scan is
then
displayed.
Manual search in stages
Briefly press button
<4
(17)
or
~ (19)
to seek
stations
one by one
on
a
higher
or lower
frequency.
Remarks
If,
after scanning
the
whole
waveband,
no
transmitting
station is
located,
the
system
changes
to
"distance" mode,
in
order
to seek
transmitting
stations with a
weaker
signal.
Storing stations in the memory
The
radio
can store thirty
stations using the
six
memory
buttons
(1)
to (6):
- six stations
on
FM1
waveband
-
six stations
on
FM2
waveband
-
six stations
on
AST
waveband
- six stations
on
MW
-
six stations
on
LW
The
six frequencies
in
the
AST
range are
automatically
stored
in
the
memory
(Autostore
function).
Storing
a
frequency
on
any
other
waveband
is done
manually.
Manually storing
a
station in the memory
Select
the
waveband
required,
with
the
exception
of
AST
(see "Selecting
a wave-
band").
Select the station
required (see "Selecting a
station").
Press one
of
the
pre-selection
buttons
(1)
to
(6) for
at
least two
seconds.
Wait
for the
bleep
indicating
that
the
station
has been
stored.
The newly stored
station
replaces the
station
previously
stored on this
pre-selection button
on this waveband.

Storing
FM
stations
automatically
(Autostore
function)
The Autostore
function
permits the six
most
powerful
FM
stations to
be
searched
for
and
stored
automatically.
This
function
is only
available
on
FM.
If
an
attempt
is
made to
store
stations
automa-
tically in
MW
or
LW, the
system will emit
a
low-pitched
bleep
and
"NO
AST"
will
be
displayed.
Press
button
AST (16) for at least
two
seconds.
The radio
will
bleep.
The
display
will
show
"FM
AST".
The
system
will
store the
six
strongest
sta-
tions
on
AST.
When
the six stations
have
been
stored,
the
system
will
bleep.
The radio
will
tune to the
station
stored on
AST
pre-selection
(1).
The
newly stored
stations replace the
sta-
tions previously
stored
on AST.
If the
system cannot find
six
stations,
each
blank pre-selection
is programmed
"0000
AST" (this is
displayed
when the pre-selec-
tion
button
is
pressed).
