This appliance is intended for domestic use only and is not to be used for commercial purposes. Do not use a steam cleaner or high-pressure cleaner to clean the steam ironing system.

Otherwise, there is a risk of burning. Danger of burning! The iron rest becomes hot if the iron is left to rest on it for a long time.

    Transporting The steam ironing system is fitted with two castors. These allow the appliance to be pulled and pushed on flat surfaces while in the folded up position. Always transport up and down stairs with two people. The ironing board must be at the bottom when transporting this way.

    Connecting The steam ironing system is supplied with a mains cable and moulded plug ready for connection to an AC single phase supply (220 - 240 V 50-60 Hz). ^ Guide the connection cable through the slot in the lid and then close the storage compartment.

    Cleaning and care Automatic rinsing Automatic rinsing cleans the steam generator of mineral deposits from vaporised water. After water throughput of approx. 3 litres, the water in the steam generator is drained into the residual water drawer the next time the appliance is switched on. The rinsing process lasts for a few minutes.

It is via these contacts that the appliance is informed when the residual water drawer is full or fitted in the appliance. If the contacts are wet or dirty, this information is not transmitted.

    One tablet is required for each descaling process. More descaling tablets can be ordered directly from Miele or online at www.miele-shop.com (depending on country). The iron or the steamer must not be connected when the appliance is being descaled.
  • Page 46 Cleaning and care Reminder to descale If two operating hours remain until the appliance must be descaled, the indicator light k begins to flash red. The less time remains until descaling, the faster the indicator light flashes, until it finally lights up constantly. During the time between which the indicator light k begins to flash and lights up constantly, the descaling process can be started by pressing the j button.
  • Page 47 Cleaning and care The indicator lights in the control panel will guide you through the descaling process. Follow the indicator light prompts, e.g. 2 empty the residual water drawer, k fill the water container etc. The entire descaling process takes approx. 90 minutes. Carry out the necessary actions only when prompted to do so by the indicator lights.
  • Page 48 Cleaning and care Preparing the descaling process The descaling process can be started when the indicator light k flashes red or lights up constantly. ^ Unplug the steam hose from the steam connection socket. Do not connect the iron or the steamer during descaling. This would interrupt the descaling process by switching off the appliance.

If the steam ironing system is still warm from previous use, the indicator light l will illuminate. The descaling process will automatically continue once the appliance has cooled down and the indicator light l has gone out.
  • Page 50 ^ Empty the water container. Fill the water container to the descaling symbol k with fresh tap water (approx. 25 °C to 35 °C) and place a Miele descaling tablet (see 'Optional accessories') in the water container. Ensure that you adhere to the mixing ratio for the descaling tablets.

At different times during the descaling process water is pumped into the steam generator and then deposited in the residual water drawer.
