WARNING
When
servicing
a
propeller, always make
certain the ignition
switch is
off and that
the
engine
has
cooled
completely.
WHEN MOVING
A PROPELLER, STAND IN THE CLEAR;
there is
always some danger of a cylinder firing when a
propeller is moved.
MINOR MAINTENANCE
RUBBER SEALS
To prevent sticking
of
the rubber seals around the
w indows,
doors,
and
engine
cowling,
the seals
should
be
coated with
Oakite 6 compound. The
compound
is
noninjurious to paint and can be removed
by
employing
normal cleaning methods.
GENERATOR
Since the generator and
voltage
regulator
are
designed for
use on only one polarity
system, the following
precautionary measures must be observed when
working
on
the charging
circuit. or serious damage to the electrical
equipment will result:
1. When installing a battery, make
certain
that the
ground polarity of the battery and the ground polarity
of the generator are the same.
2. When connecting a booster battery, be sure to connect
the
negative battery terminals together and the
positive
battery
terminals together.
3.
When
using
a
battery charger, connect the positive
lead
of the charger to the positive battery terminal and
the
negative lead of the charger to the negative battery
terminal.
