Excessive
water consumption
may
be an indication that
the voltage
regulator requires
resetting.
The specific
gravity of the electrolyte
should
be
checked
periodically
and
maintained
within the
limits
placarded on
the battery.
The battery box
is vented
overboard to dispose
of
electrolyte and
hydrogen gas fumes
discharged
during the
normal
charging operation.
To
ensure
disposal of
these
fumes
the
vent tube
should be
checked
frequently
for
obstructions
and
should be
kept
open.
TIRES
An inflation
pressure of 30 psi should
be
maintained
on
the 6.00 x 6 main
wheel
tires. The 5.00
x
5 nose
wheel
tire
should
be inflated
to
40
psi.
Maintai
ning
proper
tire
inflation will minimize
tread
wear and aid in preventing
tire failure
caused from
running
over
sharp stones.
When
inflating
tires. visually
inspect them
for cracks
and breaks.
CAUTION
Beech Aircraft Corporation
cannot
recommend
the use of
recapped tires.
Recapped
tires have
a tendency
to
swell
as
a result of the increased
temperature
generated
during
takeoff.
lncreased
tire size can jeopardize proper
function
of
the landing gear retract system,
with the
possibility
of damage
to the landing
gear
doors and
retract
mechanism.
