BCleaning Fuel Filter Bowl
Before supplying fuel, clean the fuel filter bowl.
A If dirt or any other foreign matter is included in fuel, the
filter element may be clogged earlier or water may be
more likely to remain in the filter.
A If water remains in the fuel filter bowl, clean or replace
the fuel filter bowl as early as possible.
C Cleaning
1. Change the carburetor fuel valve from the "RUN"
(OPEN) position to the "STOP" (CLOSE) position.
(1) Carburetor fuel valve
(2) Ring screw
(3) Fuel filter bowl
2. Loosen the ring screw and remove the fuel filter bowl.
3. Remove the element and rinse it with gasoline. If the
element is excessively dirty, replace it.
(1) Carburetor fuel valve
(2) Element
(3) Packing
(4) Fuel filter bowl
(5) Ring screw
(A) "STOP" (CLOSE)
(B) "RUN" (OPEN)
(C) "DRAIN"
A Take care not to damage and misplace the element
and packing.
A If they are excessively dirty (clogged), they will be
clogged again in short hours after cleaning.
4. Reassemble the packing and element while taking
care that they are not contaminated with dirt.
A If dirt is included in fuel, a failure can result.
A If the carburetor fuel valve is moved to the "DRAIN"
position, the fuel will be drained through the drain port.

PERIODIC SERVICE
(A) "STOP" (CLOSE)
(B) "RUN" (OPEN)
(C) "DRAIN"
