9-22. Adjusting the indexer hole spacing (-52 specifications)

Before carrying out this adjustment, check that the home position adjustment for the cloth feed bar has been carried
out correctly. (Refer to page 65.)

1. Loosen the bolt q.
2. Push the cloth feed bar w against the bolt e.
3. Move the feed movable block r so that the pin t goes smoothly into the indexer holes (38.1 mm - A, 44.45 mm
- B, 50.8 mm - C, 57.15 mm - D).
4. Place the stopper block y firmly against the feed movable block r, and then tighten the bolt q to secure it in place.
9-22-1. Using the set screw collar
Using the set screw collar makes it easy to change between two different hole spacing settings. The right-hand set screw collar
can be used to set the smaller hole spacing, and the left-hand set screw collar can be used to set the larger hole spacing.

Example: For spacings of 38.1 mm (1-1/2") and 44.45

1. Set the hole spacing to 38.1 mm (1-1/2").
2. Place the right-hand set screw collar q against the
stopper block w, and then secure it by tightening the
screw e.
3. Set the hole spacing to 44.45 mm (1-3/4"). (Refer to
3. the previous page.)
4. Place the left-hand set screw collar r against the
stopper block w, and then secure it by tightening the
screw t.
5. From now on, if you want to have hole intervals of 38.1
mm (1-1/2"), move the stopper block w so that it is
against the right-hand set screw collar q and secure it
in this position, and if you want to have hole intervals
of 44.45 mm (1 - 3/4""), move the stopper block w so
that it is against the left-hand set screw collar r and
