7-3. Adjusting the thread tension

Turn off the power.
Never adjust the thread tension while sewing.
<Reference values>
Upper thread tension
Lower thread tension
Thread take-up spring tension
Thread take-up spring stroke
Upper and lower thread
* If you change the type of material being used, it may be necessary to change the thread tension.

The upper thread tension given above is the tension when the upper thread is pulled out from the thread path hole
*
of the thread take-up lever, and the lower thread tension is when the lower thread is pulled out from the needle hole

in the throat plate.

Turn the upper thread tension adjustment knob q in the
direction indicated by the arrow to increase the upper
thread tension.

Loosen the screw e and turn the thread take-up spring
support r in the direction indicated by the arrow to
increase the tension of the spring t.
Stroke adjustment
Loosen the screw y and turn the thread take-up spring
guide u in the direction indicated by the arrow to increase
the stroke of the spring t.
