Receiving Faxes by Polling (Polling Receive)
You can receive a fax stored on another fax machine for fax polling by dialing the fax number. You can receive a
specific document from a fax information service by following the audio guidance of the service.
Note:
When you follow the audio guidance, dial the fax number using the On Hook feature, or using the connected telephone.
1. Enter Fax from the home screen.
2. Select Menu > Polling Receive, and then enable the function.
3. Enter the fax number.
Note:
When Direct Dialing Restrictions in Security Settings is enabled, you can only select fax recipients from the contacts
list or the sent fax history. You cannot manually enter a fax number.

Making Output Settings for Received Faxes

You can set to save received faxes in the printer's inbox, a memory device, or a computer. You can also make
settings to forward received documents automatically. If you set none of them, received documents are printed
automatically.
1. Enter Setup from the home screen.
2. Select System Administration > Fax Settings > Output Settings > Fax Output.
3. Press Settings, select the option you want, and then make settings.
❏ Save to Inbox:
Saves all received documents in the printer's inbox. The stored documents are not automatically printed.
You can view the documents on the LCD screen of the printer and print them if needed.
❏ Save to Computer:
On the computer connected to the printer, make settings to save received documents on the computer using
FAX Utility. See the help of FAX Utility for more details.
Once the received documents are saved on the computer, they are deleted from the printer. To print the
documents automatically while saving them on the computer, select Yes and Print on the printer after
finishing the FAX Utility settings.
Note:
When the computer is not turned on, the printer temporarily saves the received documents in its memory. If the
memory becomes full, the printer cannot send or receive faxes.
