Setting the base

The base settings are configured using a registered Gigaset handset.

Setting the date/time

The date and time must be set in order to show the correct time for incoming calls,
for example.
There are two methods of setting the date and time:
u
Your base receives the date and time from a time server on the Internet, provid-
ing that the base is connected to the Internet and synchronisation with a time
server is enabled (default setting;
u
You can also change the date and time manually via the menu on one of the reg-
istered handsets.
Your base accepts the new time and transfers this information to the connected
handsets.
Setting the date and time on the handset
If the date and time have not yet been set on the handset, the

You can enter data in the following fields:
Enter Date:
Enter day, month and year as an 8-digit number via the keypad e.g.,
14Q12Q11 for 14/01/2011 and press
Enter Time:
Enter the hours and minutes in 4-digit format via the keypad, e.g., QM15
for 07:15 am.

Protecting the telephone from unauthorised access

Protect the phone system settings with a system PIN known only to you. If a system
PIN is not equal to 0000, you have to enter it if you register or de-register a handset,
change local network settings, perform a firmware update or reset the phone to
default settings.
Please note
If the PIN for your phone is 0000 (default setting), you are only requested to
enter the PIN when you reset the base and when you register handsets.
