When they are closed, pins 1 and 2 will connect to pins 4 and 5 as
will pins 7 and 8 to pins 3 and 6. The result is an RJ-45 type signal
connection on the central four pins. Note that the other four pins
still have the same signals connected and thus do not conform to
RJ-45.
