Thank you f o r selecting the Signamax™ RS-232/422/485 to
10/100BaseT/TX
Media Converter.
This converter is
designed
to
provide
a
RS-232/422/485
point-to-point
connection over twisted pair cable where the connected
devices employ a RS-232/422/485 interface. It enables serial
devices such as CNCs and PLCs to connect to an existing
Ethernet/ Fast Ethernet network, thereby permitting the same
cabling plant to support a convergent, multi-functional network
solution.
This single port converter features complete Ethernet and
TCP/IP support for 100 Mbps data rates over fiber, making it
easy for milling machines, measurement instruments and
other serial devices to migrate to network-based automation.
Additionally, by deploying the media converter, users can
install the device as a standalone solution or in a Signamax™
065-1180 or 065-1185 chassis for a rack mount system,
thereby retaining investments made in the existing serial
equipment and software.
