10. Final Drive Mechanism
Check bearings on gear box.
Rotate each bearing's inner ring with fingers.
Check if bearings can be turned in smooth and
silent, and also check if bearing outer ring is
mounted on gear tightly.
If bearing rotation is uneven, noising, or loose
bearing mounted, then replace it.
Check oil seal for wear or damage, and replace it
if necessary.
Check gear box cover bearing as the same way
above, and replace it if necessary.
Caution
If remove the drive shaft from the cover
upper side, then its bearing has to be
replaced.
Check drive shaft and gear for wear or damage.

Bearing Replacement

Caution
Never install used bearings. Once
bearing removed, it has to be replaced
with new one.
Remove driving shaft bearing from left
crankcase using following tools:
Inner bearing puller
Install new driving shaft bearing into left
crankcase.
Tool:
Bearing (6301) driver
Press the bearing into cover with hydraulic
presser.
