We know now that by typing a" the way over
to the right edge of the screen and continuing to
type, we can make the cursor move down one
line on the
screen.
This causes the characters we
have typed to wrap
around,
and as far as the
computer is concerned, the line doesn't really
end until the end of the third line on the
screen.
There is another way to end a line. Fi" up about
half a line with the C
character.
SCREEN 1
Now press the RETURN key (located at the right
edge of the second row of
keys).
SCREEN 2
This is
different
from wraparound because the
line is ended even though there is still room for
more characters land because the computer rec-
ognizes it as a true line
change).
Try it again. This
time fill up about half a line with the character
V.
SCREEN 3
Now press RETURN and the cursor again moves
to the next line.
SCREEN 4
You can also end a line which contains no char-
acters.
Press RETURN again when the cursor is
at the left
edge.
What happens? It stays at the
left edge and just moves
down.
