selection of food.
Formatting the Blank Diskette
Before you can copy a program onto a blank
diskette, you must format the
diskette.
This
procedure puts the tracks and sectors onto a
blank diskette so it can hold
information.
STEP
1
Notice that a prompt appears on the screen:
SELECT ITEM OR RETURN FOR MENU. The
formatting
option
is item I on
the
menu.
To
select this
option,
type the letter I
and
press
the RETURN key
STEP 2
Soon another prompt
appears:
WHICH DRIVE
TO FORMAT? To select Drive 1
,
type the
num-
ber 1 and press RETURN
.
The disk drive will
spin and you will hear a whirring
noise.
STEP 3
When the whirring stops and the red light
goes off, remove the DOS Master Diskette and
insert the blank disk to be formatted
.
Again,
insert the diskette label side up, bottom end
facing away from you. Be sure to close the
drive door when you 're done.
STEP 4
Another prompt appears on the screen
:
TYPE
"Y" TO FORMAT DISK 1. Type Y and press RE-
