TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
The transcever does not
turn ON.
No sound from the speak-
er.
Transmttng s mposs-
ble, or hgh power can not
be selected.
The dsplayed channel
cannot be changed.
Scan does not start.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• The battery s depleted.
• Bad connecton to the battery pack.
• Squelch level s too tght.
• Volume level s too low.
• Speaker has been exposed to water.
• Water has entered to [SP MIC] connector.
• Some channels are for low power or receve
only.
• The battery s exhausted.
• The battery s overcharged.
• The output power s set to low.
• Lock functon s actvated.
• "TAG" channels are not programmed.
• Beep tones are turned OFF.
• The temperature s outsde of –35°C to +73°C
(approx.).
• The connected battery pack's voltage s more
than 11 V.
• Ambent nose s too loud.
• The connected battery s depleted.
SOLUTION
• Recharge the battery pack.
• Check the connecton to the transcever.
• Set squelch to the threshold pont.
• Rotate [VOL] to set a sutable level.
• Push and hold both [16•C] and [H/L•LOCK] to
dran water from the speaker.
• Dry [SP MIC] connector.
• Change channels.
• Recharge the battery pack.
• Verfy the battery voltage s correct.
• Push [H/L•LOCK] to select hgh power.
• Push [H/L•LOCK] for 1 sec. to cancel the functon.
• Set the desred channels as "TAG" channels.
• Set the beep tones to ON (Fx Beep/User Beep) n
the SET mode.
• Leave the transcever at room temperature for a
whle. Turn the power ON to check f the nternal
temperature has returned to normal.
• Verfy the battery voltage s correct.
• Push [ ] and [H/L•LOCK] to deactvate the
VOX functon.
• Set the VOX gan to lower senstve value.
• Recharge the battery pack.
