Indicator Lights
Supplemental Restraint
System Indicator
This indicator comes on briefly when
you turn the ignition switch to ON
(II). If it comes on at any other time,
it indicates a potential problem with
your front airbags or automatic seat
belt tensioners. On models equipped
with side airbags, this indicator will
also alert you to a potential problem
with your side airbags, side curtain
airbags, or passenger's side airbag
automatic cutoff system (if
equipped). You will see the symbol

Side Airbag Off Indicator
(For some types)
This indicator comes on when you
turn the ignition switch to ON (II). If
it comes on at any other time, it
indicates that the passenger's side
airbag has automatically shut off.
You will also see the symbol

''PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OFF''
message on the multi-information

Electric Power Steering
(EPS) Indicator
(For some types)

This indicator normally comes on
when you turn the ignition switch to
ON (II) and goes off after the engine
starts. If it comes on at any other
time, there is a problem with the
Electric Power Steering system. You
will see the symbol ''
symbol with a ''CHECK SYSTEM''
message on the multi-information
display. If this happens, stop the car
in a safe place and turn off the
engine. Reset the system by
restarting the engine. The indicator
will not be turned off immediately, so
drive several kilometres and watch
the EPS indicator. If it does not go
off, or comes back on again while
driving, take the car to your dealer to
have it checked. With the indicator
on, the EPS is turned off, making the
car harder to steer.
If the power steering system
overheats while driving, the assisting
power is reduced and steering may
feel slightly harder.
If you drive with the system
overheated continuously or
repeatedly, this can damage the
power steering system.
